Cathy M. Spears
Cathy Marie Spears, 71, of Parkersburg, passed away November 4, 2026 at the Elizabeth Care Center after an extended illness. She was born February 2, 1955 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Woodrow G. and Betty Taggart Mace.
Cathy was a kind soul, always willing to help and always willing to sit and talk with anyone. She so loved being with her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Jefferson Baptist Temple and formerly the Camden Temple. Her hobbies were cooking and baking.
Surviving are her children: Robert Spears Jr. (Pam) of Parkersburg, Misty McCulty (Kasey) of Elizabeth and Scott Spears (Wendy) of Parkersburg, sister Mandy Keith of Davisville and brother Tom Hewitt of Florida.
Cathy also leaves behind her loving grandchildren: Amber Johnson (Brandon), Amy Clatworthy (Robert), Brandon Franklin (Andrea), Keith Franklin (Elizabeth), Kassie McCulty (Bob), Corbin Parsons (Hannah), Shyla Florence (Chris), Makenna Detty (Austin), Charlee Spears and Bo Spears along with 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dale Spears in 2010 and sister Susan Richards.
Funeral services will be Monday 11AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery, Walker. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5PM and one hour prior to services.
