Deane Allen Beck Jr., 46, of Parkersburg, WV, and Marietta, OH, left this world and found peace on August 10, 2026, surrounded by the deep love of his mother, Lila, and his sister, Maggie.

Deane was truly one of a kind—undeniably the smartest and funniest person in any room. Charismatic, outgoing, and entirely himself, he never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He lived life on his own schedule, which usually meant he was late for just about everything, but his arrival was always worth the wait. Deane was a legendary prankster whose quick wit and infectious laughter brought so much joy to those around him.

Beneath the humor was a man with a massive heart who would drop everything to help family and friends in need. Deane loved making and fixing things with his hands, expressing his soul through writing poetry, and simply hanging out with the people he cared about most. Above all, Deane held immense pride and love in his heart for his children, wishing the best for them in every step of their lives. He was deeply important to his family and friends, and the space he leaves behind is immeasurable.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Betty Snodgrass, who helped raise him; his grandfather Ed Snodgrass; his uncle Mark Snodgrass; his soulmate, Ashley Moore; his special friend Dean Beaver; and many close friends who went before him.

He is survived by his beloved children, Ethan Beck, Colin Beck, and Aubri Beck; his devoted mother, Lila Follett; his loving sister, Maggie Barnhart; his ex-wife and friend, Libby Thompson; his nephews, Gage and Aidan; his niece, Paityn; his great-nieces, Aelin and Isabella; and a wide circle of loyal, lifelong friends who will forever miss his presence.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family to assist with arrangements.
