It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William “Big Bill” M. Aronhalt,
who passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born on March 13, 1953, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Bill was the beloved son of the late
Brooks Howard Aronhalt and Reva Aronhalt.
Throughout his life, Bill was known for his strong work ethic. He worked as a sandblaster for
Federal Industrial Services for many years and spent time working as a mechanic and
farmhand. No matter what the job, Bill took pride in honest, hard work.
Bill is survived by his seven children: William Aronhalt Jr. of Marietta, Ohio; Joseph Aronhalt
(Angel) of Parkersburg, West Virginia; Sandi Naylor (BJ) of Marietta, Ohio; Cheryl Naylor of
Parkersburg, West Virginia; Sheena Belt (Matthew) of Marietta Ohio; Anthony Martin of New
Martinsville West Virginia; and Ashley Dennis (Jason) of Parkersburg, West Virginia. He also
leaves behind 18 cherished grandchildren: BreAuna Steele, Tori Aronhalt, Liam Aronhalt,
Kaitlyn Miller, Tyra Joy, Mercedes Cochran, Brady Boston, Tristin Walker, Gabby Walker,
Isaac Belt, Cameron Queen, Kyle Belt, James Belt, Malaci Martin, Xandra Martin, JD
Dennis, Dalton Dennis, and Kaylee Dennis; 14 great-grandchildren; the mothers of his
children, Tammy Oliver and Angela Harkins; along with many beloved nieces, nephews,
extended family members, and friends.
Bill enjoyed the simple things in life and found his greatest peace outdoors. Whether he
was working on cars, watching racing, or settling in to enjoy a good Western, he was
happiest doing the things he loved. He was the greatest nickname giver, everyone had one.
He shared a special bond with his beloved cats, Giz, Salem, and Gypsy, and never forgot his
faithful companion, Pumpkin, who preceded him in death.
More than anything else, Bill loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought
immeasurable joy to his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Mia Allen-
Martin; his cousin, Barb Davis, who held a very special place in his heart; and his former
wife, Karen Lockhart.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated. A private family viewing will be held
on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m. at the Warren Volunteer Fire Department, 17305 State Route 550, Marietta, Ohio.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Bill’s life, share memories, and celebrate
the legacy of a man who will be deeply missed and forever loved.
