Kevin Keating left this world for his heavenly home on April 14th, 2026 at the age of 51 after a courageous battle with diabetes leading to kidney failure. He is survived by his devoted parents, Vince and Katie Keating and a sister, Christy Hansell and her husband, Kevin Hansell and by a niece and nephew, Matthew and Ella Hansell along with his former wife, Stephanie George, with whom he remained close. Kevin also had a large extended family and many friends.
Kevin was born in Washington, Pennsylvania; then moved as an infant to Southeastern Ohio, where he spent his formative years in a loving, Christian family. Kevin made his first home as an adult in Baltimore, Ohio where he enjoyed watching his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He later lived in Pittsburgh, near his favorite NFL and NHL teams, the Steelers and the Penguins. Most recently, he returned to southeast Ohio to be near his parents and served on the Coolville Founder’s Day Committee. In his final chapter, Kevin resided at The Belpre Landing where he was surrounded by an excellent and caring staff. His treatment involved frequent trips to dialysis where he received compassionate care from the staff of DaVita.
Kevin graduated from Federal Hocking High School and pursued a career in non-destructive testing, quality assurance and project management. Through the years he worked for TEI, Flour Corporation, KTA and HRV and traveled extensively for his work. Kevin was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. While working for Flour, he was recognized for his outstanding work on the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Project – an honor that reflected both his skill and his commitment to helping others.
Kevin faced many struggles in his life, but he never lost his sharp wit or his gift for the perfect comeback. He had a great ear for music and loved karaoke. Toward the end, he spent many hours in prayer for others. His faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, never wavered.
