Cecil Hinton, born June 22, 1953, passed away January 7, 2026.
Cecil retired from Steers Heating & Cooling, where he dedicated his career to the HVAC industry. If someone ever needed heat, Cecil was there. He never left anyone uncomfortable, and he never met a problem he wouldn’t try to fix. He had a huge heart and took care of many, both within and beyond his family.
He is survived by his children: Chris Hinton (Diana), Gena Hinton (Delli-Gatti) (Jeff), Katie Hinton (Ervin) (Michael), and Kyle Hinton (Sara). He was a proud grandfather to Madison, Reed, Cade, Ava, Rowan, Wyatt, and Sydnee.
He is also survived by his siblings, Luella Gheen and Harry Hinton.
Cecil loved spending time with his girlfriend, Kim Flanigan, especially in Florida and on the river. He enjoyed a cold Budweiser, a good cigar, and admiring cars-preferably with nowhere in particular to be.
Those who knew Cecil will fondly remember his favorite line: “They better take my picture now so they can remember my face-because they’re never gonna see it again.”
As it turns out, he was right-but he’ll never be forgotten.
Masonic services will be 4 pm Friday January 9, 2026, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, provided by the Belpre Masonic Lodge #609. Funeral services will follow with Pat Ervin officiating.
