James Henry McBride, 88, of Parkersburg passed away November 15, 2025 at the Mountain View Care Center in Ripley, WV. He was born in Charleston, WV a son of the late Charles Edward and Rena Renaldo (Rollins) McBride.
He was a bricklayer and worked with his brother Glen at McBride Masonry for over fifty years. He was a longtime member of Christian Life Center. James was a United States Navy veteran. His favorite activities were trout fishing and hunting. He enjoyed woodworking, and building guitars and furniture. He liked to sing and was a devoted father, husband, brother, and grandfather.
He is survived by two sons Michael R. McBride (Deanna) of King, NC and Mark McBride of Parkersburg; grandchildren Rachael Kathleen McBride of North Carolina, Michael Paul McBride (Tia) of North Carolina (currently a missionary in Moldova), Kylee Ruth McBride of Columbus, OH, and Nicholas Randolph McBride of Parkersburg; two great grandchildren Silas Gabriel and Adelina Jane McBride; a brother Glen McBride (Mildred) of Parkersburg; and a sister Mary Harrah of Charleston, WV.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon Diane (Berry) McBride; and six brothers Raymond, Jake, William, John, Virgil, and Burt McBride.
Services will be Saturday 11:00 AM at Christian Life Center with Reverend Glen McBride officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the church. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
