George Steven Swinler, 78, of Williamstown passed away September 19, 2026 at Elison Assisted Living in Marietta, OH. He was born on June 20, 1948 in Bennington, VT a son of the late James Carrol Swinler Sr. and Ann (Wells) Swinler.
George was a veteran of the United States Airforce, in which he served his country for 6 years. He was a chemical engineer and worked for Dupont for 10 years. He was a also a member of the Williamstown Masonic Lodge. George enjoyed spending his time with activities like wood working and shooting guns.
He is survived by his daughter Sandra Orland (John), son George Swinler Jr. (Jacqueline), son Paul Swinler (Adrian), daughter Deborah Lifes, son Ron Swinler (Hannah), as well as 11 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Dianne Swinler, a son John Clayton Swinler, brother James C. Swinler Jr., and a grandson Michael Cormack.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3rd, 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown .
Visitation will be held Friday, October 2nd from 5-7 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home.
