Dolores Josephine Means, 83 of Parkersburg passed away September 18, 2026.
She was born in Parkersburg, WV. August 27, 1943 the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Alice Katherine Michael Coram.
She was a graduate of DeSales Heights and then graduated from Glenville State College with a Bachelors Degree in Business. She had worked for many years as a Sales Representative for G.E. Plastics and had served as Vice President of the Polymer Alliance Zone of WV and had owned and operated Picture This Interior Design. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid football fan and was a wonderful cook and enjoyed being hostess of many holiday and family functions. She was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Means of Parkersburg; Her children, Kimberly Coram of Hendersonville, NC. Thomas Shields of Santa Cruz, CA. Kenneth Shields of San Diego, CA.and Rebecca Ammer of Denver, CO, and one step-daughter Barbara Jarvis of Parkersburg. a sister, Sylvia Watson of Columbus, OH. Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ken Shields and one sister, Sandra Snaith.
There will be a Memorial Mass held at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Parkersburg and the day and time will be announced early this week.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105.
