Deloris Jean Strahler, 77, of Marietta, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, was truly a mother to everyone who knew her. She went to her heavenly home (John 14:1-3) on May 26, 2026.
Deloris was born the first of 10 children to George and Lena (Tuttle) Whitehead on September 13, 1948 in Parkersburg, WV. She was an accomplished hair dresser for many years. She loved teaching the gospel in a bible class at Rockland Ridge in Belpre. She loved preaching the gospel to anyone that would listen. She also was an avid painter, loved gardening, and decorating her home.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 40 years, Robert Strahler. Three sons and one daughter: Jeremy Roberts (Lisa), Aaron Roberts (Ashley), Jared Roberts (Billie), and Alexis Harvey (Trey). Two step daughters: Jennifer and Jill, Grandchildren: Jordan, Josiah, Mikayla, Nathan, Grace, Ellie, Deacon, and two great grandkids, Luke and Nora. Six siblings: George Whitehead Jr., Mary Smearman (Jeff), Roger Whitehead (Jeanie), Diana Heaney (Chuck), Sophia Thomas (Bill), Geraldine White (Steve) and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Roberts, three siblings, Leslie Whitehead, James Whitehead and Kimberly Piersol, and one great grandson, Luke.
Services will be held Monday, June 1 at 2:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Mike Towner officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, June 1 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
