Nancy (née Farson) Swartz Womeldorff passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at The Wyngate in Parkersburg, W.Va., at the age of 97. She was born on September 7, 1928, in Parkersburg to Dorotha “Meme” McGrew Farson and Bernard Mitchell Farson. She graduated from Parkersburg High School and Mountain State Business College, and began working for George Powell, CPA. In 1964, she joined the staff of the United Fund, later the United Way, and retired several times (!), finally in 2004. Her passion was raising her children, Jenny and Scot, her puzzles and, of course, watching Judge Judy. We were sure not to call her during that program! She loved life and also loved dogs. She enjoyed hearing about the dogs of family members and friends.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jenny Drastura (Charles), and son, Scot; granddaughter Sarah Rogers (Stephen), special nieces Marilyn Farson Hunt and Cindy Farson; nephew Thomas Farson (Anna); cousins Timothy Muldoon and Debbie Muldoon Ruckert; and stepsons James Womeldorff and Matthew Womeldorff. Also, very special friends Chriss Wilson, Carolyn Hoover and Judy Reider. She was predeceased by her parents; nephew David Livingston Farson; daughter-in-law Betty Walton Swartz; brother Thomas Dean Farson; sister-in-law Juliette Farson; a very close cousin, Ann Wright Muldoon; her first husband Albert Nelson Swartz, Jr., and her second, James Womeldorff, Jr.
A special thanks to the staff of The Wyngate for Nancy’s care for the past three years, but especially in the past few weeks.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, smile a lot, give a special hug to your loved ones and be kind to everyone.
