Cheryl Lynn Winkler, 67, of Williamstown, WV died March 29th, 2026 at the Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. She was born July 29, 1958 in Queens, NY a daughter of the late William and Helen Bellaire Corbett.
First and foremost, Cheryl was a woman full of joy and hope, building community everywhere she went. She was a woman of deep faith, and as such she believed in doing random acts of kindness as frequently as she could as a show of God’s love. She believed in caring for others and contributed to various causes in support of those in need. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor, and friend. Despite life’s trials and tribulations, she never lost sight of the love, joy, and hope found in Christ and she shared that with all she encountered. Throughout her life, Cheryl volunteered in community groups and often held leadership positions in the PTA, churches, and hospitals. In her career, she was a nurse turned Wall Street stock administrator turned sales representative – all positions in which she could connect with people.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Winkler; two children, Cristie Lynn (Brad) Thomas of VA, Robert Bryce (Tori) Winkler of OH; two grandchildren, Levon Grey and Avett Fox Thomas; and brother Bill Corbett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Kenneth Corbett.
Services will be Tuesday, April 7th at 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Kurt Busiek officiating.
Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, WV.
