Brian Todd Gibbs, 57 of Parkersburg WV passed away unexpectedly on March 8th 2026 at his residence. He was born July 10th 1968 in Gallipolis, OH to the late Sheryl Elaine Martin-Dowell and Calvin Ray Dowell and was lovingly raised by the late Lesley Ray Gibbs.

Brian was a 1986 graduate of Meigs Local High School. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Brian later attended Hocking College, where he earned an associate’s degree in nursing. In addition to his medical training, he was also a certified welder with Ironworkers Local 787 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and later worked for Steve’s Plumbing and Stateline Construction.

Brian was a devoted husband of 20 years to his loving wife, Alicia. He was also a dedicated father and grandfather who deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and all of those close to him. Brian always had a kind and giving heart for others and was known for helping anyone in need.

In his free time, Brian enjoyed riding his Harley and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also cherished family vacations and spending time with friends. Brian was known as a hard worker with a strong attention to detail. He took pride in teaching others the skills he had learned throughout his life.

Brian also had a creative side and enjoyed drawing, painting, and tattooing in his spare time.

Above all, Brian was a strong follower of Christ and a member of The Warehouse Church.

Surviving is his loving wife Alicia Dawn Gibbs, his four children ; Patrick Gibbs, Ronnie Barker, Haley Gibbs(Marcos Souto De Silva) and Aubrianna Gibbs (Maverick Kelley), two brothers : Jimmy Gibbs(Karen) and Roger Dowell and sister Stacey Cleland(R.J. Reynolds)

Brian also leaves behind five grandchildren : Leo, Jett and Ivy Barker, Rosalyn Morehead and Lillyana Souto De Silva with a sixth, Maxton Kelley, on the way.

In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Folmer.

Funeral services will be Saturday 5PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 7th St Parkersburg WV with his best friend, Pastor Bill McQuaid officiating. Viewing will be Friday 4-8PM and one hour prior to services.
