David “Shawn” Whitehead, 64, of Vincent, OH died Wednesday January 7, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born in Parkesburg a son of the late William H. and Marjorie G. (Ruble) Whitehead.
He was a very proud member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 565 and loved nothing more than working with his Union brothers. Shawn loved Hot Rods and went to Mopar Nationals every year, where he became a member of the 100 mph club. He enjoyed his time online with his Call of Duty brothers.
He is survived by his life partner Kelly Currey of Vincent, OH; sister Lakota Parson of Ripley, WV; and many nephews, cousins, and other close family. Shawn was a wonderful papaw and father figure to the children who were fortunate to be in his life.
Services will be Monday 6:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Luke Easter officiating. A Celebration of his life will follow at The Station. Visitation will be Monday 3-6 PM.
