Mary Lou Edwards, 88, of Parkersburg passed away following a short illness. She was born in Idamay, WV a daughter of the late Berkley and Ada (Cottrill) Baker.

Mary was a strong and determined woman her entire life. In 1982, with only an 8th grade education, she established and operated her own business, Mary’s Towing, until two weeks before her death. At the age of 15 she was married to her 16 year old sweetheart Flavy Edwards. they were married for sixty-seven years.

She is survived by many who loved her including: sons Larry Edwards (Becky) of Vienna and Michael Edwards of Parkersburg; daughter Patricia Brown (William) of Williamstown; sister Joyce Baker Hess of Idamany, WV; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Flavy W. Edwards, daughter Rebecca Sue Edwards Hoyler, sister Shirley Harris, and brother Franklin Baker.

Mary would want everyone to know that her business, Mary’s towing, of which she was so proud, will continue to operate and serve the people of Parkersburg and the surrounding areas.

Services will be Tuesday 1:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 11 AM to 1 PM.

Her family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Camden Clark Medical Center for their compassionate care.
