Barbara J Allen, 76, of Parkersburg passed away December 28, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born August, 4, 1949, a daughter to the late Alvin J. and O. Lucille Charlton (Biles)
Barb found happiness in the little things, whether it was calling out “Bingo!” with a grin or carefully adding another glass angel to her cherished collection. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren, soaking up every giggle, smile, and joyful moment. Those simple pleasures were her greatest treasures and the memories she leaves behind will forever bring smiles to those who loved her.
Barbara is survived by her son Brian G. Allen (Cheyenne) of Belpre; sister Sharon L Wigal (Bill) of Mineral Wells; brother Alonzo “Butch” Charlton of Parkersburg; and grandchildren Brayden G., Maddy, Cohen, Bryar, Lucas, and Dakota; as well as many special friends and family.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Henry G. Allen, brother Leonard A. “Bub” Charlton, and sisters Donna Joy and Katherine L. “Sue” Hardee.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held Saturday, January 3, at Leavitt Funeral Home at 11am. Visitation time will occur Friday the 2nd from 6-8pm at the funeral home, and again an hour before the service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery.
