Lois Marie (Morrison, Holder) Anderson passed peacefully from this realm to heaven in her
mid-morning sleep on Friday, December 12, 2025. Her compassionate and attentive nurses at
Elizabeth Care Center, Kim and Laura had just turned on her praise and worship music videos
and Christmas tree lights. When they went back to rouse her for breakfast, she had slipped away
into eternity.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ron Anderson, who made her happier than
she had been in years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Rita (McBride) Morrison
and Robert “Bob” Morrison, who lived to be 101.
Lois is survived by her twin daughters, LeAnn and Tammy, their husbands Dennis Bates and
Mark McCullough; four grandchildren Brandon and Michael Bates, Leah and Seth McCullough;
Brandon’s wife Samantha and Leah’s husband Dustin Briones; as well as four great-
grandchildren Gannon and Waylon Bates, Emalyn and Finley Fox and their mother Brittany; and
by her first husband, Terry Holder and his wife Connie, who both cared about her and always
wanted the best for her.
Lois was a member of Heart of Worship church where she was loved and accepted by many,
especially Karen Powell and Linda Bennett who each considered her their second mother. Lois
was called an inspiration in the way she gave her all in worship.
Lois was born in Oregon in 1943 but moved back to Dublin, Ohio with her parents where she
grew up and graduated from Dublin High School in 1961. She went to college later in life and
earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University in Lancaster, Ohio in
1982. She enjoyed a career as a Daycare Director. She and Terry raised their twin girls on
Walden Pond in Pleasantville, Ohio. She moved to Parkersburg, WV later in life to be near her
daughter LeAnn. This is where at 80 years old, she met and married her beloved second husband,
Ron Anderson.
Lois loved to praise Jesus, teach women’s Bible studies, have fun with church friends on outings,
make friends everywhere she went, vacation at the beach, and spend time with family. She also
loved her two Shih Tzu puppies, Micah and Princess.
Lois had always told her daughters, for as long as they can remember, that she did not want a sad
funeral but a celebration party and made us promise to sing the song, I’ll Fly Away. She was
confident in God’s promise to draw His faithful followers to Him in heaven, where she knew she
would be the moment she took her last breath in this world. She also instructed her pastor, Tim
Henson to preach the message of salvation and sing praise and worship songs at her
“celebration.” Lois’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025. The
Celebration service will begin at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at the Heart of
Worship church at 1630 8th Avenue, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Feel free to wear bright colors to
the Celebration in honor of Lois’s love of color and all things sparkling.
Lois will be remembered and missed by many. All who knew her personality can guarantee that
she will be a part of the welcome home community when each of her family and friends cross
over into heaven.
