Jackson Stevenson Martin, 60, of Morristown, Tennessee, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 9, 2025, after a long and courageous journey with illness. Born on March 10, 1965, in Bluefield, Virginia, Jackson was a man whose presence left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

From a young age, Jackson was known throughout his community as an outstanding athlete. His natural talent, determination, and deep love for sports were evident to family, friends, and anyone who watched him play. Athletics were a lifelong passion that shaped not only how he competed, but also how he encouraged, mentored, and inspired others.

Beyond the field, Jackson was a true artist at heart. He found beauty in creativity—whether through drawing, painting, or transforming everyday materials into meaningful works of art. His hands were rarely idle, and his imagination knew no bounds. Creating was his way of expressing what words sometimes could not.

Jackson also had a profound love for animals, especially dogs, who seemed to sense his gentle spirit just as much as he cherished their companionship. His kindness extended effortlessly to all living things.

While he had many passions, nothing in this world meant more to Jackson than his boys. His greatest pride and deepest love were his sons—Jackson Martin, Easton Martin, Jordan Martin, and Julian Martin. Everything he did, every fight he fought, and every day he showed up was for them. If you knew Jackson, you knew his first love was his children, and his devotion to them was unwavering.

Jackson will be remembered for his strength, creativity, loyalty, and the love he gave so freely. Though his passing leaves an ache in the hearts of many, his legacy lives on through his sons, his art, his memories, and the countless lives he touched.

Jackson was a faithful Christian man whose life was anchored in his relationship with the Lord. His faith provided strength, comfort, and peace beyond understanding. He trusted in God’s promises and the assurance of eternal life. Now, having finished his earthly race, Jackson is healed and whole, free from pain and suffering, and resting in the loving presence of his Savior. As Scripture reminds us in John 14:1–3, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you… that where I am, there ye may be also.” His family finds comfort in knowing he has been welcomed into the home Christ prepared for him.

He is survived by his beloved children, Jackson Martin, Easton Martin, Jordan Martin, and Julian Martin, and by their mother, Michelle Lowers, who remained a cherished friend and trusted confidant throughout his life. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Martin, Rodney Martin, Alphonso Martin, Detriuss Martin, Jonathan Carey, Donelle Carey, Marlin Gray, Michael Gray, Dennis Moore, and his sisters Jacqueline Carey, Tenisha Carey, Mondo Carey, Stacey Gray, and Tracey Gray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Martin and Jackson Carey, and his brothers Jerry Martin (Kim), Dante Carey, and Marcus Moore.

Visitation for Jackson will be held Sunday, December 21st from 6:00-8:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg. Services will be held on Monday, December 22nd at 2:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home of Parkersburg, followed by a burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Jackson will be deeply missed and forever loved. May he rest in Christ’s eternal peace, where there is no more pain, only joy and everlasting love.
