Larry Joseph Powell, 80, of Belpre, OH, passed away December 8, 2025, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH.
He was born on March 12, 1945, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Earl Ivan Powell and Leah Emaline (Buckley) Marshall.
Larry had worked as a steelworker for Patton Manufacturing. He attended the Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Belpre. Larry enjoyed fishing, camping and bowling.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Peggy Powell of Belpre; son Robert Boling (Lisa) of Summerton, SC; daughter Anita Powell (Aimee) of Marietta, OH; step-sons Jeff Briggs of Marietta and Charlie Duncan (Erica) of Vienna, WV; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister Ruth Ann Flowers of Belpre; several nieces and nephews and his fur baby Daisy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Judy Powell and Dorothy Thomas; brothers Jack and Robert Powell; step-son Omer Duncan.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 15, 2025, 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home of Belpre, with Pastor Rick Hastings, officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 14, 2025, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, 90 Mt. Tom Rd, Marietta, OH, 45750.
