Richard Lee Smith, 83, of Vienna, WV died Thursday December 4, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Richard Edward and Helen Louise (Batton) Smith.
He was owner/operator of Shirt Tales in Vienna and also worked for Nationwide. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran. He enjoyed flying his plane, traveling, boating, island hopping, and just seeing the World.
He is survived by two sons Richard A. Smith (Debbie) of Kearneysville, WV and Steven J. Smith (Shirley) of Charles Town, WV; grandchildren Elizabeth, Amelia, Caroline, Anna, and Samuel; great grandchildren Ellis and Noah; two sisters Connie Kerns and Linda Parsons; and a brother Jerry Smith.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday 2:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Michael Rubin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Old Man Rivers or Parkersburg Humane Society.
