Doris Faye Collester, 88, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025 at her home in Williamstown, WV surrounded by her family. She was born on March 28, 1937 in Jefferson County, IL, a daughter of the late Gustav and Amby Tackett Draege.
Doris graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University where she was passionate about the theater and drama programs, especially costume designs. Over the years she held many callings as a sign language interpreter, teacher, as a seamstress, but none she was more passionate about than devoting her time to her faith and her family.
She is survived by five children, Rosanne Marie Deem of Williamstown, WV; Catherine Elaine (Matthew) Putegnat of Tigard, OR; Michele Patrice Williams of Williamstown, WV; William Leighton (Cheryl) Collester of Winter Park, FL; Sarah Lynn Sanderson of Williamstown, WV; along with twenty-three grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Robert William Collester, III, Alan David Collester, one granddaughter, Tina Marie Collester-Walls, and one great-granddaughter, Amber Marie Wallace.
A Memorial Service will be held, Thursday, December 4th at 6:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1503 Glendale Rd., Marietta, OH 45750
A Gathering of friends and family will follow from 6:30- 8:00 pm Thursday at the church.
