Anne Dale (Smith) Winger passed away Saturday afternoon, November 29, 2025, at her home. She was born April 21, 1945, in Parkersburg WV, a daughter of the late Layrd and Helen Smith. Anne Dale was a proud 1963 graduate of Parkersburg High School.
Anne is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 57 years, James David Winger II; son Jay Winger (Lisa Romanowski); daughter Tracy (Eric) Conaway; grandchildren Joshua (Danielle) Winger, Nathan Winger, Rebecca Conaway, Noah Conaway; great-granddaughter Waverly Winger; cousin Susan (Wilkie) Din, and her dear friends Diane Cumpston, Jane Couch and Josie Wildi.
She will be lovingly remembered as “Nan Nan” by Jenny (Bennett) Phillips, Sara (Bennett) Todd and William Bennett.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Tom Wilcoxen.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jeremy Waters, Amedisys Hospice, and Village Caregiving for the wonderful care and attention that they gave to Anne.
Visitation will be held at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, Friday, December 6, 2025, from 6-8 pm. Graveside service for family and friends will be held 10 am Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV.
