Diana Ruth Criss Workman
November 6, 1946 – November 1, 2026
Diana Ruth Criss-Workman, 79, of Walker, West Virginia, passed away on November 1, 2026.
Born on November 6, 1946, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond C. Criss and Madeline R. Criss.
Diana shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Edward Wayne Workman, who preceded her in death. The two began their life together when Diana was just 14 years old, building a lifetime of memories along the way.
As a proud military wife, Diana traveled across the country with Ed and their boys, living in Massachusetts, Louisiana, Hawaii, Newport News, Virginia, and Churchville, Virginia. In the fall of 1986, they returned to West Virginia to be closer to family. Together, they built a beautiful log cabin on a hill surrounded by wooded acreage, where they would spend the rest of their years together.
Above all else, Diana loved her family. She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, and spending quality time with those she loved. She especially looked forward to the family’s annual trips to Hilton Head Island, where countless memories were made over the years. Diana was a wonderful cook who loved preparing Sunday dinners and bringing everyone together around the table. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family was always at the heart of everything she did. She loved fiercely and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Madeline R. Criss; her husband, Edward W. Workman; and her son, Scott Workman.
She is survived by her sons, John E. Workman (Spouse, Dawn Workman) and Todd A. Workman (Spouse, Connie Workman); her grandchildren, Joseph S. Workman and Emily A. Ellington (Spouse, Samuel K. Ellington III); her sister, Carla Brooks (Spouse, Andy Brooks); and her brother, Don Criss.
She is also survived by her nephews, Adam Brooks and Jacob Brooks, and their families; her nieces, Rachel Criss and Lea Turner, along with many other beloved family members.
Diana leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever carry her love with them.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Amedisys Hospice and her caretaker, Cheryl, for their kindness, compassion, and support during Diana’s final days. Your care meant so much to our family, and we are forever grateful.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00am at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Sam Lewis officiating. Immediately following she will be laid to rest at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
