James “Jim” Richard Wine, 81, of Elizabeth, WV, passed away on August 22, 2026.
He was born March 9, 1945, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Richard Earl Wine and Dorothy (Murray) Wine Cheuvront.
He was a retired mechanic at E.I. DuPont Washington Works. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and was an avid WVU fan.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Pamela Lynn (Hofmann) Chute Wine of Elizabeth, WV, and three children: James Todd Wine (Kelley) of Elizabeth, WV, Lisa Dawn Carpenter (Mike) of Davisville, WV, and Angela Renee Root of Parkersburg, WV; step-daughter, Brooke Harris (Mike) of Parkersburg, WV, sister, Janet Westfall of Milton, WV, brother, Dean Wine (Melanie) of Palestine, WV, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Wine; brother, Ritchie Wine; and three grandchildren: James “Eric” Wine, Whitney Marie Wine, and Anthony J. Harris.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday 11:00 AM August 27, 2026, at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Joey Dolpies officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday August 26, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home in Parkersburg.
