Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Belt of Vienna, WV, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at the age of 77.
He was born on August 1, 1949, in Wirt County, WV, the second son of the late Harry Neal Belt and Violet Gay (McFee) Belt.
On December 10, 1970, he married the love of his life, the late Anne Louise Belt, with whom he shared many cherished years. Anne preceded him in death on August 18, 2008.
Ronnie was a graduate of Wirt County High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.
He spent many years working as a welder at Ravens Metal and later retired from HiVac Corporation, where he also worked as a welder.
Ronnie enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also loved tinkering with boats, a hobby that brought him much enjoyment and allowed him to make many lasting friendships along the way.
Ronnie is survived by his son, Matthew Belt (Sheena) of Marietta, Ohio; his four grandchildren, Isaac Belt, Cameron Queen, Kyle Belt, and James Belt; and five great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers, Neil Belt (Sheryl) of Burning Springs, WV; Jerry Belt (Tammy) of Elizabeth, WV; and Joe Belt (Sandy) of Shawsville, VA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ronnie will also be lovingly remembered by his beloved cat, Screech.
Along with his parents and wife, Anne, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Belt.
In accordance with Ronald’s wishes, he will be cremated. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
