Thomas F. Santer, 86, of Vienna, WV died Friday August 7, 2026 at Camden Clark Medical Center-WVU Medicine. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Michael A. Santer, Sr. and Regina T. (Kotnik) Santer.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School, and Wheeling College, before receiving his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Georgetown University. He practiced law with his brother for many years.

He is survived by his wife Marguerite (Metz) Santer; two children Kathryn E. Santer (Charles C. Piggott) of Parkersburg and Thomas J. Santer of Vienna; and five siblings Matthew P. Santer (Pamela), Joseph T. Santer (Barbara), Mary Katherine Post (Mark), Stephen F. Santer (Mary), and Paul M. Santer (Lucinda).

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings Michael A. Santer, Jr. M.D. (Andrea) and Regina Ann Studzinski.

Tom was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother and a dear friend to many. He and his brothers would get together once a month for the past Nine years for lunch, they called it “bro lunch”. Tom and Margie loved to golf and took many golfing trips together, this was their passion. He and Margie were high school sweethearts and were happily married for 56 years. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Shinu Lukose as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
