Jon Lyman Spokes, 85, of Parkersburg, WV, left his earthly body on June 30, 2026, after a lengthy battle with dementia. Jon was born on November 14, 1940, in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan to Frank and Dorrine Spokes.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Anne Spokes, who he has now been reunited with in Heaven.

Jon is survived by daughters VeAnne Fuerhoff (Jim), Anjonette Spokes, Virginia Spokes, and son, Jon Spokes. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, James, Zachary, Jeremy and Joshua and brother, Michael Spokes.

Jon worked for the Washington Times and was a published author, a political and biblical enthusiast and loved a good debate on either or both- and usually with a good cup of hot coffee in his hand. He wrote not only books but many biblical and political articles over the year, whether it was by newspaper and/or internet as well. He was most well known for ‘Jon Christian Ryter’s Conservative World’, where he would give his ‘Ryter Report’ and ‘ 2 cents worth’ on many topics over the years. Over the years, he maintained millions of followers to his website, JonChristianRyter.com. Jon will be missed immensely by family and friends.
