Together, they raised two wonderful children, Breanna Skinner (Maureen) and Seth Skinner (Levi), both of Denver, Colorado, who embody their mother’s spirit and strength.

Shauna’s educational journey began at Waterford High School, where she graduated in 1991. She then pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her Registered Nurse license from Hocking Technical College. Her nearly 25-year career as a Registered Nurse in the WVU Healthcare system in Martinsburg, West Virginia, was marked by her compassionate care and dedication to her patients, offering comfort and hope to those navigating difficult times.

Shauna’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and adventure. Her fierce independence and courage were evident in her triumphant 13-year battle with breast cancer, a testament to her indomitable spirit. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them and her many close friends, including her lifelong companions Lisa Ball, Teresa Ullmann, and Michelle Tomes Martin.

A lover of life and its many wonders, Shauna found joy in traveling internationally, experiencing different cultures, taking long walks, music, dancing, and embracing every opportunity to socialize and celebrate. Her quick wit and energetic nature endeared her to all who crossed her path, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.

In addition to her beloved husband and children, Shauna is survived by her father, Carl Chandler (Susie) of Lowell, Ohio, her devoted mother-in-law, Carolyn Skinner, of Churchtown, Ohio, her loving sisters Amanda Schmidt (David) and Maggie McCain (Bobby) of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and her sister-in-law, Kim Pauley of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also remembered fondly by her Aunt Connie Cozzens Lawrence, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was predeceased by her dear mother, Nancy Ann Cozzens Chandler, and her father-in-law, Roy Skinner.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Cedar Grove Assisted Living and Amedisys Hospice in Parkersburg, West Virginia, for their dedicated care in Shauna’s final months, as well as to Susie Twasta, Care Services Manager for ALS of Nevada, for her unwavering support and guidance.
