Blenda J. (Thompson) Deem, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026, at home. She was born in Belleville, West Virginia on September 11, 1945, to William Harvey and Vera LaVinia (Seals) Thompson. Blenda graduated from Wirt County High School in 1963. She married David L. Deem on October 31, 1964, in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Blenda worked as a dental assistant for Dr. White in Parkersburg, West Virginia for many years and most recently worked for Crownpointe Senior Living in Greenfield for 17 years. She attended Parkersburg Evangelical Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing, and visiting the nursing homes, where she sang to the residents.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Deem of Greenfield; children, Natalie Cline of Greenfield and Nanette (Philip) Campbell of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Joseph Cline, Selah (Evan) O’Connor, Chloe Campbell, and Levi Campbell; siblings, Kenneth (Janet) Thompson, William H. Thompson, Jr., and Wanda Caltrider, all of West Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harvey and Vera LaVinia Thompson; and four brothers, Lawrence Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Harlan Thompson, and Robert Thompson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Services and Crematory, 403 7th St, Parkersburg, WV 26101. Entombment will be held at Sunset Memory Gardens, 1934 Dupont Rd., Parkersburg, WV 26101.
