Richard Alan Wyatt, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Born in Parkersburg, Richard later relocated to North Carolina while raising his family, before returning to the area after retirement.
Richard was the devoted husband of 50 years to Paula Starling Wyatt. He was a loving father to Jeremy Wyatt and his wife, Stephanie, of Parkersburg, and Jonathan Wyatt of Belmont, NC. He was a proud and cherished Papa to his granddaughters, Isabelle Humphrey and Abigail Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Linnie Wyatt, and his older brother, Roger Wyatt.
Richard was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Parish and a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam era, and retired following a long career in aviation.
Known for his dedication to family, faith, and service, Richard will be remembered as a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend whose kindness and presence touched many lives. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew him.
Arrangements are being handled by Leavitt Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on June 20th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to service.
