Nancy Ann (Crowley) James, 83, of Vienna, WV died Thursday May 7, 2026 at Ohio Valley Healthcare Nursing Home. She was born in Kearny, NJ, a daughter of the late Michael John and Bridget Mary (Rodgers) Crowley.
For over 30 years, Nancy was an elementary school teacher. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, where she served as Eucharist Minister; Sunday School Teacher; Parish Council; and Women’s Group. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Soup Kitchen.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Pamela James-Perkins; (Vance Perkins); grandchildren Trey B. Hanna and Von Lee Perkins of Annapolis, MD; Paige Elizabeth Bannister Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; Reilly Ann Bannister of Huntington, WV; and great granddaughters Eliana Rose Taylor and Jacqueline Lorraine Taylor;
Nancy is also survived by her brother, Roger Michal Crowley; (Nancy Davis); of Vienna; and sister SharonRose Crowley of Santa Cruz, California.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Daniel D. “Buddy” James; beloved daughter Lorrie Bannister; sister Margaret Peggy Crowley; and brothers Dr. Thomas John Crowley, Patrick James Crowley, and Michael Barry Crowley.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Inurnment will be later at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
