Randall Ray Atkinson, 75, of Veto, Ohio, passed away on May 6, 2026. He was born on February 26, 1951, in Parkersburg, WV. Well known for being lighthearted, sociable and a collector of jokes.

Randy served in the Navy during Vietnam. He was stationed aboard the USS MacKenzie and the USS Observation Island.

After his military service, Randy was an insulator with the Insulators Local 80. He was also on the Little Hocking and Belpre Fire Departments. He was an active member of Amazing Grace Community Church in Tuppers Plains.

Randy enjoyed watching Ohio State football, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns. He planned his days around game schedules and wore his teams’ hats with pride—even when victories were scarce. (Cleveland).

Randy loved the Redwood restaurant in Belpre, being a patron since childhood. He cherished his Bob Evans trips too. The family extends gratitude to everyone at those establishments for their kindness.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jill Atkinson Flinn and Joy Bunner (Terry). His grandchildren Morgan Flinn, Allison Hadfield (Derek), Amber Atkinson, and Chris McAvena, as well as his nine great-grandchildren: Colton, Laiken, Addi, Abram, Jozee, Lily, Haley, Brendan, and Anzley. His good friend and cousin Chuck Buck (Patricia), his foster aunt Sue Twyman (Bob), sister-in-law Dorothy Atkinson, along with countless cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Teresa Atkinson; his parents John and Elizabeth Atkinson, brother Steve Atkinson and his aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be Monday 11AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Wayne Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-5 PM and one hour prior to services.
