Ralph Pugh
Ralph Pugh

Ralph Lee Pugh, age 78, of Lubeck, WV passed away at Cleveland Clinic on April 23, 2026, after a life marked by faith, hard work, and devotion to the people he loved. He was born on January 2, 1948, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to his late parents George W. and Glada P. Stephens Pugh. Ralph was known as a friendly, faith-filled, and handy man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, and steady support to those around him.

Ralph was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, and after completing his education, he began a life of service and labor that reflected his strong work ethic. He retired from Boilermakers Local No. 667, where he was respected for his dedication, skill, and reliability. He also served for a short time in the National Guard, a part of his life that reflected his willingness to serve and his sense of responsibility. Ralph took pride in honest work, and he carried himself with the quiet strength of a man who knew the value of doing things well.

Faith was an important part of Ralph’s life. He was a Christian man who attended 14th Avenue Gospel Mission Church, where he found fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual strength. His faith was not only something he spoke about, but something he lived through the way he treated others. He was a man who believed in kindness, perseverance, and the promise of God’s grace. Those who knew him could see that his faith shaped his character and gave him peace throughout the seasons of his life.

Ralph enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He loved Florida trips, and he appreciated the chance to travel and enjoy time away. His life passion was working on sprint cars and going racing, activities that reflected both his mechanical ability and his love for excitement and speed. Whether he was turning a wrench, heading out for a race, or spending time with loved ones, Ralph found joy in being active and useful. He had a gift for fixing, building, and helping.

In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by a brother Dale Pugh and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Patti Pugh, who stood beside him for 40 years with love and companionship. He also leaves behind his daughter, Cynthia, and her husband, Justin, as well as his grandson, Levi Dennis. Ralph is also survived by his stepdaughter, Cecilia Fluharty, and his step-grandchildren, William Fluharty and Destiny, Michael Fluharty, Preston and Kylie Brush, Alexis Fluharty, and Aarian Talkington. He was blessed with multiple great-grandchildren.

Ralph’s life was one of steady faith, devoted family ties, and dependable character. He was the kind of man who made a difference through everyday acts of love and service. His family and friends will remember his warm smile, his practical wisdom, and the way he could be counted on in times of need. Though Ralph’s earthly journey has come to an end, those who love him take comfort in the hope of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
