James G Wiseman, 97, passed away on January 20, 2026, at his home in Leachtown, WV. He was born April 28,1928, in Turtle Creek, PA a son of the late Gordon and Nellie (Dickel) Wiseman.
Jim began working in woodworking as a young boy alongside his father, learning skills that would shape his life and livelihood. As an adult, he proudly worked for several local customers alongside his son Tim, building a reputation for quality craftsmanship and dedication until his retirement at the age of 75. His love for woodworking never faded-well into his 90’s, Jim continued creating small, carefully made pieces for family and friends.
He is survived by sons, Don Wiseman (Bobbie) of South Carolina and Tim Wiseman (Luanne) of Leachtown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend, George Brown.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Wiseman; and his brother, Richard Wiseman.
Graveside services will be 12:00 PM Saturday at the K & P Cemetery in Elizabeth, WV. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
