He has slipped the surly bonds of Earth and touched the face of God.
Jerry R. Shaw, 84, of Parkersburg, WV died Tuesday September 8, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Madison, WV a son of the late Carlos and Mary (Price) Shaw.
He worked in the tansportation industry for many years. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and had been a long time member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of over sixty-three years Mary Ann (Murphy) Shaw; son Jerry Shaw (Diane) of Parkersburg; beloved grandchildren Andrew Shaw of Cincinnati, OH and Cecilia Shaw of Knoxville, TN; several special children and godchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He treasured his time with family which included his bonus daughters Sherri Wheeler, Cathi Emerick and Lisa Romanowski.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings Nancy Lamm and John Shaw.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 1:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Fathers Sebastian Devasya officiating and The Rev. Dr. Francis Wade as homilist. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
