Janet Marie Schmutzer, 63, of Parkersburg, passed away June 16, 2026, at The Willows Center in Parkersburg. She was born March 10, 1963, a daughter to the late Britton and Wanda Goodwin.
Janet is survived by her daughter Lindsay Simon (Steven); grandchildren Raya and Jaxon; brothers James Goodwin (Kristina) and Steven Goodwin (Lisa); sisters Garnett Madison (Kirk), Cristina Amos (Charlie) and Vickey Ferrell (David); several nieces and nephews, and special friends Donna Mills and Jessica Vanway.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Douglas Schmutzer; grandparents Arthur and Garnett Goodwin and Harold and Mable Robinson, and her sister Roberta Brown.
As per Janet’s wishes, her remains will be cremated with no services.
The family would like to extend special thanks to The Willows, Amedysis Hospice, and Carrie Smith from Dialysis for their special care of Janet.
