Patsy Joyce Baker, 70, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on June 23, 1955, Patsy was the cherished daughter of Ray and Joyce Slaughter. She dedicated much of her life to educating and inspiring young minds as a beloved teacher at Warren Elementary School, where she served faithfully until her retirement. Her kindness, patience, and commitment to her students left a lasting impact on countless families throughout the community.
Above all, Patsy was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife of 35 years to Joe and mother to Jillian, Ashley, Jonah and Heather. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Taylor, Wyatt, Jett and Kymia, who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
Patsy found her greatest happiness in spending time with those she loved. Whether gathered around the family table, enjoying time outdoors, or making memories on camping trips, singing and playing her guitar, she treasured every moment shared with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Scott Baker; her parents, Ray and Joyce Slaughter; and her brothers, Alan Slaughter and Gary Slaughter.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joseph Paul Weaver, her children, Jillian Lee Weaver, Ashley Laura Weaver, and Jonah Paul Weaver (Alysha); her grandchildren, Taylor Easton, Wyatt Easton, Jett Weaver and Kymia Byrd, her sisters, Pam Jones (Tony), Paula Gorham and Renda Slaughter; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, former students, and colleagues who will deeply miss her presence and remember her with love.
Funeral services will be held on June 15, 2026, at Walker United Methodist Church in Walker, West Virginia. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 pm.
Patsy’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
