Jimmy Lee Stoops, 68, of Washington, WV passed away May 31, 2026 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital, in Marietta, OH. He was born on January 2, 1958 in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Lawrence Guthrie and Maxine Bailey Stoops.
He retired from USPS after 18 years of service and previously worked for O’Ames Plant 1 & 2 for 27 years. He was a member of the Camden Avenue Church of Christ where he was active in the Card Ministry. Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved tinkering on cars.
He is survived by his daughter, Alexandria White (Walker Daggett) of Pittsburgh, PA, brother Larry Stoops, great-nephew Mackenzie White (Sydney), great-niece Madison White (Dane Mills), and nephew-in-law Mark White
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Stoops, niece Sabrina White, niece Sherry and sister-in-law Carol Stoops.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 11th, at 2:00 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Doug Wells officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery South.
Visitation will be held Thursday 1-2 pm at the funeral home.
