Larry Cinet Thompson, 77, of Belpre, OH, passed away March 6, 2026, at his residence.
He was born March 11, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Harry Cinet and Ava Maxine Matheny Thompson.
Larry was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran serving in Vietnam. He attended the Little Hocking Church of Christ and the Veto Church of Christ.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He was an Eagle Scout and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going to auctions and antiquing. Larry loved history and reading his Bible. Larry loved football and was an avid Ohio State University Football fan.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Anita Thompson; sons Barry C. Thompson (Alison) of Cincinnati, OH, Chris Thompson (Nicole) of Vienna, WV, Jason C. Thompson (Sarah) of Lancaster, OH, Anthony Brooks of Belpre, OH and Dustin Brooks (Kelsey) of Lowell, OH; grandchildren Linsey Miller (Brian), Lea Thompson, Sophie Thompson, Toby Thompson, Carter Thompson, Henry Thompson, Chloe Thompson, Eve Brooks and Anthony Brooks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Sue Miller and brother-in-law Harry “Bud” L. Miller
Funeral services will be 11 am, Tuesday March 10, 2026, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Belpre, with Ron Laughery officiating. Burial will follow at Veto Cemetery with military honors by the Marine Corp League of Marietta. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm.
