James Cobb

James Alan Cobb, 66, was Born March 19, 1959, in Parkersburg, WV. He went to be with the Lord on Jan 8th 2026. He graduated from Williamstown High School in 1977, where he played football. Jim was a journeyman electrician. He followed in his dad’s footsteps and served in the Air Force.

A brilliant mind, he could read a book and remember it almost word for word! He had a sarcastic sense of humor that was Hollywood-worthy. His greatest loves were his two children, Ryan and David, and his beautiful granddaughter, Harless. Whether they were just hanging out and watching a game or going out to eat. He loved oil painting and excelled at his electric guitar when he was younger. Passing the football and going to the woods with his brother was a favorite pastime. Teasing and caring for his little sister, too. Even through all of his struggles and pain, he was there for anyone in need. A kind and very giving person who will be deeply missed!

Preceded in death by his proud parents, David L. Cobb and Betty L. Clegg Cobb. He is survived by His two sons, Ryan (Anne) and David (Alyssa). Siblings Kenneth L. Cobb (Xiao) and Jo Cobb Farley (Mark), granddaughter, Harless Cobb, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Service will be on Friday, 2:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Rick Headley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be on Friday, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
